A new irrigation system has been installed following extensive technical due diligence. We successfully secured a three-phase cable route which reduced both visual impact and cost. The works are complete. This upgrade was essential for the maintenance of the football pitches moving forward. This new system is less labour intensive and the watering system more efficient. The cost of the irrigation system from precept funds was zero, it was all funded via section 106 monies.
In addition, there were some comments on watering the pitches during the summer on a social media site. The football club receive a grant for seeding the pitches, the watering programme was to support the seeds growth. In terms of costs we were advantaged by an agreement with a local contact who delivered water directly into new water tank free of charge. This water would normally have gone to waste.
